winter semester 2026/27
Design and execution, architecture, building construction and structure form a unity in theory and practice. ‘Design and Structure’ as a constructive-technical and spatial-constructive subject is an essential focus of the architecture and urban development programme. The professorship is advertised as an artistic professorship, addressed to people from the fields of architecture and civil engineering.
Design and structure are understood in their disciplinary specificity and at the same time as part of the thematic profile ‘architecture of the city’, which encompasses all fields of teaching.
We welcome a competent, committed, open-minded and inspiring personality who teaches the subject holistically. The basics of structural design are to be taught in the basic studies, as well as an in-depth study of the constructive aspects of design in the higher semesters of the bachelor's programme.
The professorship takes responsibility for the module ‘Technology-Natural Sciences-Law’ and works together with the Department of Civil Engineering. In the architecture and urban planning programme, the professorship coordinates the design, structural and construction theory of the 6th semester, incorporating the topics of sustainability and circular economy. This includes organising cross-studio teaching formats and offering elective courses with a focus on construction/structure. The lecture on construction/structure in the 6th semester is an integral part of the professorship's teaching programme.
In addition to teaching, the professorship's core tasks include:
